Today Was A Great Day!
>> 16 November 2009
I slept in so that was a great start. Lol. Gotta get them Zs. I stayed up until around 4 or so last night so the sleeping in helped a bit. I immediately got ready for my burlesque class this afternoon. It was raining buckets but I still made it. I carpooled with another classmate who provided me with some useful knowledge that I will mention later.
In my burlesque class we went over the moves that we learned last week as well as some new additions such as button up shirts and BOAs. Props are always good. ;-) At the end of class we did our own solo skits in front of everyone. The song was Joe Cockers "Leave Your Hat On". Now of course I love that song because of the last scene in the movie "The Full Monty". Love that movie...love it! My skit lasted the entire song. I incorporated a BOA, button up shirt, a chair, and of course my body. I got a wonderful response from the audience. I had a GREAT time. :D
After class my classmate and I went to Cirilla's, the former Pricilla's, to shop for costumes for next weeks class. I need a new pair of fishnet stockings since the ones that I have were bought when I had all that weight on me. I'm thinking full body fishnet this time. We'll see. I walked out with nothing but will be going back during the week to pick something up. I'd like to be in character for the next class.
Now to get to what my classmate told me during our drive back from class. We were discussing an assortment of subjects. We settled on her marriage and how happy she is after 7 1/2 years. That's a wonderful thing to be married for that long and still act like newlyweds. She mentioned that her and her husband at the time that they met got out of bad relationships not too long before they met. They wanted to take some time to themselves before getting into another relationship but they just clicked. They were pretty much inseparable from that point on.
That got me to thinking about you know who. What happened with my classmate also happened to him and he is very happy. I believe it's happening all around. That is a great thing! There needs to be more happy folks in this world. :D As I'm typing out this blog I'm smiling for both my classmate and my ex for finding the happiness that they wanted.
That conversation made something click in my head. I'm even more determined to do what I need to do to take care of my happiness. I'm well on my way. I still have some kinks to work out but all of that will be worked out as well. Patience...and time.
I'm going to sign off now. I have a few shows to catch up on.
Until next time...
♥
